    Perfect Cocktails for Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! What better way is there to celebrate the love of your life than by having a drink together? Here are a few perfect cocktail recipes to share on the special day, complete with our suggestions for cocktail glasses and barware that will make your choice taste even better.

Sex on the Beach

Cocktail glass: 

Tattoo Highball

Bar tools:

Ginza Tin on Tin Shaker
Cocktail Strainer
Jigger
Fine strainer

Sex on the Beach Ingredients:

50 ml Vodka
25 ml Peach Schnapps
40 ml Cranberry juice
40 ml Orange juice
Orange and Maraschino Cherry to garnish

How to Make a Sex on the Beach cocktail

Step 1) Fill your glass with ice or put it in the freezer to chill for a few minutes

Step 2) Measure each ingredient using your jigger, adding them one by one to the shaker.

Step 3) Add some ice into the shaker, shaking for 15 seconds; it should be cold to touch.

Step 4) Discard the ice from your highball glass, refilling it with fresh ice. If possible use a fine strainer on top of your Hawthorn as you pour – this will prevent small pieces from landing in the drink

Step 5) Pinch the orange zest, spraying the oils across the rim of the glass, then lay it in the glass together with the cherry.

Mimosa ingredients:

60 ml Fresh Orange Juice
60 ml  Sparkling Champagne  or (Sparkling Wine)
Orange (garnish)

How to make a Mimosa cocktail

Step 1) Put your champagne flute in the fridge to chill for a few minutes

Step 2) Starting with the fizz, carefully measure each ingredient with the jigger, then carefully pour into the Champagne flute

Step 3) Dust the rim of the glass with the orange zest for added flavour.

The long haul

You’ve been together for as long as you can remember. What better than to settle in for the evening with a classic cocktail: the Old Fashioned! A smooth whisky-based cocktail, best enjoyed in an Old Fashioned glass - some things are meant to be.

Old Fashioned

Cocktail Glass: 

Freddo Old Fashioned

Bar tools:

Tin on Tin Shaker
Cocktail Mixing Glass
Jigger
Bar spoon
Fine strainer

Ingredients:

60 ml Bourbon
10 ml Sugar Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Orange (garnish)

How to make an Old Fashioned cocktail

Step 1) Fill your glass with ice or put it in the freezer to chill for a few minutes.

Step 2) Measure each ingredient using your jigger, adding them one by one to the mixing glass.

Step 3) Add a couple of large chunks of ice into the mixing glass, stirring the drink with your barspoon for several seconds. 

Step 4) Discard the ice from your glass, refilling it with fresh, large ice cubes. Use a fine strainer on the mixing glass and pour into your Old Fashioned glass.

Step 5) Pinch the orange zest, spraying the oils across the rim of the glass, and then pop it in the glass.
